LG G6 OFFERS ULTIMATE USER CONVENIENCE AND ENHANCED PRODUCTIVITY WITH FULLVISION DISPLAY

LG Electronics (LG) will feature its new mobile UX 6.0 in its upcoming G6 smartphone specifically lg-k10smallcustomized to maximize the advantages of the device’s expansive FullVision® display. LG G6 will feature a QHD+ FullVision display with an 18:9 screen aspect ratio that almost entirely fills the front of the smartphone. The dimensions of the phone are ergonomically designed to ensure maximum comfort and compatibility with existing and upcoming digital content.

The new UX maximizes the benefits of the FullVision display, providing the user with our ultimate user experience and convenience, including the following features:

  • Differentiated experience for watching video clips, webpage browsing, texting, and gaming
  • Camera UX that maximizes the 18:9 format display
  • Smartly designed GUI (Graphical User Interface) that enables the opening of two square windows side by side, delivering a better multitasking experience

A Differentiated Experience

The FullVision display in the LG G6 allows users to view information when surfing the web, reading e-books, and provides an immersive experience when watching videos or playing games.

The LG G6 is expected to kick off an era of premium smartphones with 18:9 screen aspect ratios, which is why such a variety of films, apps, and games tailored to the 18:9 aspect ratio is sharply rising. The smartphone includes a feature that allows users to view existing 16:9 ratio content easily in 18:9 format.

Camera UX

LG UX 6.0 provides a Square Camera feature which divides the 18:9 display into two squares. The larger screen enables users to take and check photos simultaneously. Users can shoot images in 1:1 format – a popular format on social media apps such as Instagram – and review them in the adjacent window. There is also new shooting mode called Food Mode that delivers high colour quality and saturation ideal for capturing images of food. Users can also create GIF files by combining anywhere from 2 and 100 pictures in a loop.

Advanced Multi-tasking

The 18:9 display on the LG G6 is ideal for multi-tasking. A user can open a call reception window next to a contact window or open the photo gallery at the same time as the music player. Multiple square photographs can be combined and viewed as a Collage Wallpaper on the lock screen. Users can also type a memo on one side of the screen while surfing the web on the other. While in the calendar app, a user can turn the G6 horizontally to display the calendar in the left window and a detailed schedule will appear on the right.

“The LG G6 with FullVision was designed to optimally display the newest content being filmed today in 18:9 and give the best solution for viewing both old and new cinematic content,” said Juno Cho, president, and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Users will appreciate the many ways in which the LG G6 smartphone’s 18:9 aspect ratio can be used.”

LG’s mass-tier smartphone offerings for 2017 to be unveiled at #CES

LG Electronics (LG) will unveil four new mass-tier K Series smartphones and a new Stylus 3 at CES® 2017 in Las Vegas, as the mid-range segment continues its strong growth as the market matures. The new mid-range devices are designed to bring popular, best-in-class technologies from LG’s more premium flagship smartphones, such as the 120-degree wide angle front camera lens and the rear fingerprint scanner.

LG’s updated K Series carries over the original philosophy that all customers do not want the same things in a smartphone. Rather than offering one main smartphone model and expecting customers to adapt, the K Series was designed with the diverse needs of consumers in mind.

The K10 delivers a best-in-class 5.3-inch HD In-cell Touch Display that delivers a superb viewing lg-k10smallexperience indoors or out. Its 5MP front camera with 120-degree wide angle selfie lens complements a premium, 13MP rear camera that has been employed in LG flagship G series devices. Other advanced features not usually available in smartphones in this category include a fingerprint scanner, a metallic U-frame for a sturdy but slim 7.9mm profile and 2.5D Arc Glass design.

The K8 features a 5-inch HD In-cell Touch display and delivers high-quality camera performance with 5MP in the front and 13M on the rear enhanced by LG’s intelligent UX features such as Auto Shot and Gesture Shot for selfies. Auto Shot automatically triggers the front camera’s shutter when a face is detected. Gesture Shot takes a selfie in response to a hand signal, eliminating the need to press the shutter button and shaking the phone at the most critical moment.

The K4 is equipped with a sensitive 5-inch In-cell Touch display, 5MP front and rear cameras as well as the popular Auto Shot and Gesture Shot features found in the K8. The attractive K4 offers a slim 7.9mm profile and removable 2,500mAh battery as well as a microSD slot for additional storage.

The smallest in the series, the K3 comes with a 4.5-inch On-cell Touch display, a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP lens in the front supported by Gesture Shot. With a microSD slot and 2,100mAh removable battery, the K3 offers many features unavailable on other competing smartphones in this category.

LG will also debut the third generation Stylus 3, the latest version of its mid-range Stylus smartphone (Stylo in the United States). The Stylus 3 delivers an improved writing experience with a 1.8mm diameter fiber-tip stylus to provide the feel and feedback of an actual pen when writing on the screen. The Stylus 3 also features a fingerprint scanner and enhanced UX with Pen Pop 2.0 as well as the popular Pen Keeper and Screen-off Memo. With Pen Pop 2.0, your memos are never out of sight and can be set to display on the screen whenever the stylus is removed. Pen Keeper displays a warning when the stylus strays too far from the phone, and Screen-off Memo enables note-taking directly on the screen even when the display is off.

“Our 2017 mass-tier, mid-range smartphones focus on giving our customers a wide variety of options and choices for their smartphone lifestyles,” said Juno Cho, president of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “What’s consistent in all our K Series and Stylus 3 devices is that they look and feel premium, offer replaceable batteries and all come with expandable memory slots, what customers consider key factors when buying smartphones in this category.”

LG G5 steps up the premium smartphone game

The Galaxy S7 and the LG G5 are the two hottest premium smartphones out there now and while the iPhone SE is exciting, Apple won’t make a splash until we see the iPhone 7.

I attended a launch party last month for the G5 and I was immediately impressed but what LG showed us. We also watched the Batman vs Superman which I could have done without and I am suggesting maybe the company pair its next phone launch with a Marvel movie.

Wanting to keep the removable battery as part of its design, LG G5 took a step here keeping this and in moving to all metal materials. Like the Galaxy S7, the G5 has Always-On Display, something I’ve been spoiled with now with my S7.

The launch party team really pumped up the camera on this phone. The G5 has two cameras in the back: a 16-megapixel camera with a standard 78-degree wide lens and an 8-megapixel camera with a wide-angle, 135-degree lens. The wider lens lets you capture more space within each frame. This made sense to me and certainly makes an iPhone or Galaxy camera seem somewhat limited.

My interest really was in the modular components. The phone is great but this is what made me take notice.

The Cam Plus ads bulk to the back of the phone but also improves battery life and power. This can help as we know phones like this are often battery challenged. The Galaxy S6 is certainly one but the S7 has top notch battery life. The LG G5 is ok as well but not as good as the S7. It also has a camera grip that has a physical shutter button to record and capture video, and a zooming wheel. Pretty cool I’d say

Thought I did not get to play with it, I’d love to get my hands on the 360 VR. It looks substantially different than the Oculus VR paired with the S7. A quick visit to the LG website shows no reviews of it as of yet so I am wondering who has had a chance to use it.

LG’s First Modular Type Smartphone: LG G5

LG G5 smartphone

LG Electronics (LG) today unveiled its highly anticipated LG G5 smartphone, a brand new design with a sleek, metal uni-body featuring a Slide out Battery and a Modular Type design that gives a greater smartphone experience. Complete with LG Friends, a collection of companion devices, the G5 can be transformed into a digital camera, Hi-Fi player and more.

Encased in a sleek all metal aluminum body and Slide-out Battery to easily swap out a depleted battery for a fully charged one in seconds, the LG G5 surpasses the visual experience of its predecessor, the LG G4.

First, the G5’s 135-degree wide angle lens lets you choose between a standard or wide angle lens to get more in the shot. Second, the Always-on Display makes notifications just a glance away with the time, date and more available anytime without waking the G5. Third, the 3D Arc Glass featured in the smartphone’s 5.3-inch display creates a gentle curve and a smooth colourful metal surface through an advanced microdizing process which takes anodized aluminum to a whole new level.

Furthermore, the insulated antenna is invisibly integrated into the body without disrupting the seamless look of the metal uni-body. LG designers took the metal body concept one step further by adding a Shiny Cut edge for added contrast and a more comfortable grip.

LG’s First Modular Type Smartphone

LG’s innovative Modular Type design gives the LG G5 the ability to transform into a digital camera, Hi-Fi player and more all while keeping its traditional removable battery in a full metal uni-body design for the first time ever.

LG CAM Plus

The LG CAM Plus is a versatile camera module that can be attached through the battery slot to deliver the comfortable grip and convenient control of a standalone camera. The LG CAM Plus provides physical buttons for power, shutter, record, zoom, LED indicator. It also offers intuitive autofocus and exposure lock, features usually found on standalone digital cameras. When attached to the LG G5, it provides an additional battery capacity of 1,200mAh to allow for longer shooting times for more fun and enjoyment.

LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O PLAY

The LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O PLAY is an innovative portable Hi-Fi DAC audio player developed in collaboration with B&O PLAY to meet the needs of those who seek to enjoy top-notch sounds that have traditionally only beenavailable through high-end audio devices. LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O PLAY stands out for its simple yet elegant Scandinavian design as well as premium sound technology. In addition to the 32-bit Hi-Fi DAC up-sampling technology first introduced on the LG V10, LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O PLAY also supports 32-bit, 384 KHz high-definition audio playback. LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O PLAY can be used either as a module with the LG G5 or as a separate Hi-Fi DAC by connecting to any smartphone or PC.

Extreme Wide Angle Lens and Advanced UX

Reflecting LG’s longstanding reputation as a leader in smartphone cameras, the LG G5 has two cameras on the rear: one with a standard 78-degree lens and another with a 135-degree wide angle lens, the widest available in anysmartphone. The 135-degree lens on the LG G5 offers a viewing angle that is approximately 1.7 times wider than those of existing smartphone cameras and 15 degrees wider than the human eye’s field of view. The wide anglelens makes it easier for users to capture more landscape, taller buildings or larger groups without having to position oneself further from the subject.

The LG G5 features a collection of powerful photo effects including Pop-out Picture, Film Effect and Auto Shot. Pop-out Picture combines images taken by the standard and wide angle lens to create a picture-in-a-frame effect. Film Effect can apply nine different film emulators to an image while Auto Shot is an enhanced camera UX which automatically captures the perfect selfie shot when a face is recognized.

Always-on Display for Enhanced Convenience

The 5.3-inch Quad HD IPS Quantum display on the LG G5 offers an Always-on feature, the first on a main smartphone display. The concept of the Always-on Display was first introduced in the LG V10 as the Second Screen and now that feature has evolved on to the main display to show the time and date continuously even when the G5 is in sleep mode. This means that you can always see the time at a glance, even during important meetings or when your hands are full.

To minimize power consumption, LG redesigned the display driver IC memory and power management function so that the display’s backlight only illuminates one small part of the overall display. Thanks to this technology, theAlways-on Display requires only 0.8 per cent of the battery’s full capacity per hour to operate. With consumers turning on their smartphones up to 150 times a day mostly to just check the time, the G5’s Always-on Display will make a notable difference in the life of the battery over the course of the day.

Another advanced display feature in the LG G5 is Daylight Mode, which gives the G5 exceptional outdoor visibility beyond that of current auto brightness technology. Daylight Mode detects surrounding light conditions and instantaneously increases or decreases the brightness of the display, up to 850 nits. Even before your eyes have adjusted to the different lighting conditions, the G5 will be ready.

Unlike other VR devices that require a smartphone to be inserted in the device, the LG 360 VR weights only 118g (4.16 ounces) and is just one-third as heavy as competing VR goggles while delivering a resolution of 639 ppi. The device is compatible with 360-degree images and videos captured with LG 360 CAM as well as all Google Cardboard content.

LG 360 CAM

The LG 360 CAM is a compact 360-degree angle camera equipped with two 13MP 200-degree wide angle cameras, 1,200mAh battery and 4GB internal memory, which can be supplemented by a microSD card. The LG 360 CAM can be easily connected to the LG G5 allowing users to create 360-degree content. The LG 360 CAM provides 2K video and 5.1 surround channel recording on three microphones to help users effortlessly create high-quality 360-degree content. Thanks to the partnership with Google, images taken with the 360 CAM can be uploaded to Street View and YouTube360, adding the fun of sharing creative content with others. The images will also be available to view on the LG 360 VR or other smartphones or devices that are capable of 360-degree content.

LG Rolling Bot

The LG Rolling Bot is a companion device that rolls like a ball while capturing images and videos with its embedded 8MP camera. Not just a toy, the Rolling Bot can be used as a monitoring system for the home, pet carecompanion as well as a remote controller for compatible home appliances. Only available in the LG G5, Friends Manager is the hub application that allows the G5 to connect with LG Friends with minimal fuss and effort. LG Friends Manager automatically detects nearby LG Friends and connects quickly and easily in three simple steps, eliminating much of the hassle of pairing devices.

LG G4 The Most Ambitous Smartphone Yet

LG G4

Beginning this June, Canadians can get their hands on the eagerly anticipated LG LG G4G4, LG’s latest smartphone and the successor to the award-winning LG G3. Globally announced today, the LG G4 will be available this summer through Bell, Rogers, TELUS, Videotron and WIND Mobile.

With the G4, LG focused on delivering comfortable elegance, a great visual experience and a human-centric user experience. The LG G4 camera features a rare-in-smartphones F1.8 aperture lens which allows 80 per cent more light to hit the image sensor than in the LG G3. The creative camera module is paired with the new IPS Quantum Display that is better in every way than the innovative Quad HD display introduced to the world in the LG G3. The LG G4 embodies human sensibility that is clearly visible in its Slim Arc exterior design and graphical user interface.

“We are living up to our promise of Innovation for a Better Life with a fashionable, premium smartphone that is more focused on delivering a balanced user experience that can compete with the best of the best,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “We wanted to give consumers a truly human-centric device that joined the analog sensibilities with technologies that delivered real world performance. From the design to the camera to the display to the UX, this is the most ambitious phone we’ve ever created.”

Comfortable & Elegant Design

LG paid special attention to the materials used in its newest flagship. The LG G4 is available in handcrafted, genuine full grain leather. The vegetable tanning process employed is an age-old tradition that requires skilled craftsmen to produce and dye the leather. The colours of the leather on the G4 are rich with warm tones that look authentic and change over time. Most importantly, vegetable tanned leather is environmentally friendly and can be recycled easily, since no harsh chemicals are used. Other material options for the G4 rear cover include an artisan-forged Metallic Gray.

The fashionable elegance of the LG G4 is a refreshing change from the uniformly flat, full metal designs that have been become standard across the industry. The LG G4’s design is defined by the Slim Arc, which runs along its entire body, highlighted by a display with a subtle curvature. More than just a design accent, Slim Arc offers 20 per cent better durability than a flat smartphone in face-down drops and gives the smartphone a more comfortable and secure feel in the hand.

The exterior design is also reflected in the smartphone’s user interface, which includes simple, naturally intuitive graphics. In the LG G4, the icon colours are more vibrant with icons that have rounded corners, consistent with the Slim Arc design. What’s more, the Smart Notice widget automatically changes its background and text colour based on the home screen image selected by the user.

Great Visual Experience

LG designed the 16MP camera in the LG G4 to capture beautiful images, even under less than ideal lighting conditions. The camera module features a wide F1.8 aperture lens that allows 80 per cent more light to reach the sensor. LG improved low-light performance even further with OIS 2.0, which doubles the performance of the improved OIS+ by expanding the range of image stabilization from one degree to two degrees on the X- and Y-axis and adding a third axis for the first time.

New for G4, Manual Mode allows experienced photographers the ability to exercise more artistic expression by letting them directly control the focus, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation and white balance for every shot. Advanced photographers can also save their photos in RAW format, as well as JPEG, for more precise editing with no loss of details.

The advanced camera in the LG G4 is complemented by Color Spectrum Sensor (CSS), the first feature of its kind to find its way into a smartphone. CSS improves colour accuracy by precisely reading the RGB values of the ambient light in a scene, as well as the infrared light reflected from objects. CSS uses this information to adjust the camera’s white balance and flash colour to create images that are as close to what one would see with the naked eye. With Color Spectrum Sensor, no longer will reds appear as bright orange or whites as dull yellow.

For selfies good enough to frame, LG included an industry-leading 8MP front-facing camera for sharp, detailed portraits and group shots. Gesture Interval Shot improves on the original Gesture Shot feature by taking four shots spaced two seconds apart, increasing the chance of getting that perfect shot under the most difficult conditions. Triggering the shutter is as simple as opening and closing one’s hand twice in front of the camera.

Taking a quantum leap in display technology, the LG G4 is the first smartphone to use LG Display’s new 5.5-inch IPS Quantum Display, which offers 20 per cent greater colour reproduction, 25 per cent improvement in brightness and 50 per cent greater contrast. It is the first Quad HD display to use Advanced In-Cell Touch (AIT) technology, which combines the LCD and touch sensor into a single layer to give better colour reproduction and touch sensitivity. This new display is calibrated for DCI (Digital Cinema Initiatives) standards for colour expression, championed by top Hollywood studios.

Power and Performance

With G4, the higher quality display doesn’t come at the cost of battery life. The LG G4 is equipped with a high-capacity 3,000mAh removable battery, a rare feature in today’s high-end smartphones. Combined with the benefits offered by the snappy yet energy-thrifty Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 808 processor, the LG G4 has no trouble getting through a full day of normal use.

“LG and Qualcomm Technologies collaborated from the first stage of the Snapdragon 808 introduction to expertly tune the technologies and make several of the LG G4’s unique features possible,” said Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, executive chairman of Qualcomm Incorporated. “The resulting G4 smartphone is an ideal example of how the best optimized technologies come together to meet consumers’ needs.”

Human-Centric UX

The LG G4 is the first phone to use the new human-centric UX 4.0 that promises to be simpler and more intuitive to better understand and respond to the needs of each user. The improved UX eliminates unnecessary steps while providing more configuration options for advanced users.

  • Quick Shot allows customers to take pictures without opening the camera app by double tapping the phone’s Rear Key while the display is off. LG G4 also has an incredibly fast camera startup time of just six-tenths of a second.
  • The new Gallery makes it extremely fast to scroll through thousands of pictures and view them on a timeline. The Memories feature automatically organizes photos and videos into event albums based on the time and place they were taken, without having to upload to the cloud.
  • Event Pocket allows users to create one, unified calendar by dragging and dropping appointments and activities from multiple calendars and social media sites. After the first setup, there’s no need to log into multiple calendars.
  • The improved Smart Notice provides more personalized notifications for weather, travel and more by analyzing habits, such as how a user commutes to work. This allows Smart Notice to issue personalized messages such as, “Make sure to take an umbrella on your way to the subway.”
  • Quick Help allows users to search for instant answers to any questions about operating the LG G4, right in the Smart Notice widget. Quick Help can guide users through the LG G4’s settings and even schedule a call with customer service.

LG has sought out partnerships to enhance the overall user experience of the G4. Google Office comes pre-installed on the LG G4 for easy collaboration on-the-go and G4 owners will receive an extra 100GB of Google Drive storage free for two years. With MirrorLink and LG G4, owners of Volkswagen vehicles will be able to view a car-friendly version of the G4 interface on the in-dash display for full integration with contacts, navigation and music on the smartphone.

The LG G Flex2 smartphone features a curved profile

LG G Flex2 smartphone

LG Electronics (LG) unveiled the new G Flex2 at the 2015 International CES® in Las Vegas. The original G Flex earned positive reviews for its innovative design. One year later, the G Flex2 improves upon its predecessor with a more advanced design, faster performance and greater convenience.

The LG G Flex2 boasts sleeker curves and a powerful Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 810 processor with Octa-Core 64-bit capable CPUs. Its 5.5-inch display gets a bump up to Full HD, while the updated software offers even more conveniences through all-new features such as Gesture View and Glance View. The unique “Self Healing” back cover from the original G Flex carries over to the G Flex2 and is now faster and more effective than before.

Design Details

The G Flex2 goes beyond its predecessor’s groundbreaking 700mm radius curved profile. The new smartphone incorporates a radius of 400mm to 700mm across the front, back, sides and top-to-bottom edges.

The phone’s ergonomic design brings the microphone closer to the mouth, for better sound pickup compared to conventional smartphones which allow much more outside noise to enter the phone through the microphone. The slimmed down 5.5-inch screen with curvatures makes the perfect fit for eyes and grip. The display’s 700mm radius curvature delivers an immersive viewing experience from any angle, while the steeper 650mm radius curvature of the back is more comfortable to grip and fits easier in the pocket. The display’s resolution has also been bumped up to 1080p Full HD. The P-OLED display, which gives the G Flex2 its unique shape and durability, is even more precise than in the original G Flex.

Turning the phone over reveals handcrafted details such as the Spin Hairline Pattern on the G Flex2’s curved rear, which showcases the subtle yet brilliant polish of the surface from every angle.

Most Advanced Technology To Date

The G Flex2 is the first smartphone officially announced to come equipped with the Snapdragon 810 processor, featuring Octa-Core 64-bit capable CPUs optimized for Android 5.0 and the advanced Qualcomm® Adreno™ 430 GPU for advanced graphics performance. This makes the smartphone fast and efficient for multimedia and multi-tasking. The Snapdragon 810 also features fully integrated 3x20MHz Carrier Aggregation support for faster, more efficient connectivity.

The G Flex2’s cover glass is approximately 20 percent more durable compared to its predecessor. The Self Healing back, which keeps the phone looking new even through the nicks and scratches from normal everyday use, has also been improved with significantly faster healing time. LG reduced the healing time from about three minutes to just within ten seconds at room temperature.

Another innovative technology only available in LG smartphones is the fast Laser Auto Focus camera, first introduced in the popular LG G3. This technology enables the G Flex2 to capture the best moment — even in low light — by measuring the distance between the subject and the camera using a laser beam. Combined with LG’s proven OIS+ technology and dual LED flash, the G Flex2 delivers images that rival most standalone point and shoot cameras.

User Experience

The G Flex2’s curve-enhanced user experience carries over to software as well. It comes fully loaded with the best of LG’s unique software features optimized for its curved form factor:

Gesture Shot makes it easy to capture the perfect selfie with a simple hand gesture recognizable from up to 1.5 meters away.

Gesture View makes it easy to check your last shot immediately after taking a photo or selfie.

Glance View displays key information such as time, recent messages or missed calls with a downward swipe of the curved screen even while the display is off.

Fast Charge allows the embedded 3,000mAh battery in the G Flex2 — the only curved mobile battery in the world to be charged up to 50 percent in under 40 minutes.

“The original G Flex demonstrated LG’s pioneering spirit and with the G Flex2 we have refined the curved form factor, staying true to our philosophy of innovation for a better life,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “The G Flex2 not only has the stunning looks, it also has the powerful guts to be at the cutting edge of current smartphone technology. Simply put, it’s a true head-turner in every sense of the word.”

The LG G Flex2 will be available starting at the end of the month in Korea to be followed by additional global markets. The device will initially be available in two colors: Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red.

LG G Watch being developed in collaboration with Google

LG G watch

LG Electronics (LG) is working together with Google on LG G Watch powered by Android Wear, which extends the Android platform to wearables. LG G Watch will be compatible with a wide range of Android smartphones and will present relevant information to users just when they need it or whenever they say “OK Google” to ask questions or get stuff done. As one of Google’s lead partners in this effort, LG is planning to introduce its first watch powered by Android Wear in the second quarter of 2014.

The LG G Watch powered by Android Wear will present a low barrier to entry for developers and offer the best Google experience for users. LG engineers worked closely with Google from the initial stages of development to ensure that the LG G Watch worked perfectly with Android Wear. This is LG’s fourth device developed in close collaboration with Google following the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition.

“The opportunity to work with Google on LG G Watch was the perfect chance for LG to really pull out all stops in both design and engineering,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With the LG G Watch, LG is continuing the milestones we’ve set in wearables following in the footsteps of the world’s first 3G Touch Watch Phone in 2009 and the Prada Link in 2008. We’re confident that a well-designed device has the potential to take the smart wearable market by storm.”

LG G watch“With wearables, we’ve only just begun to scratch the surface of what’s possible,” said Sundar Pichai, Senior Vice President of Android, Chrome & Apps at Google. “The potential in this space is exciting which is why we’re thrilled to work together with partners like LG to bring Android Wear devices to market.”

Additional details of the LG G Watch powered by Android Wear, including hardware specifications, will be announced in the coming months.

LG G2: The latest flagship LG smartphone is a winner

LG G2

What can you do with one finger? According to a recent survey conducted for LG Electronics Canada, Canadians can do a lot—press snooze, hail a cab, twirl their hair, the list goes on, but for 55 per cent of Canadians controlling their smartphone with one finger is important. Beginning this fall, LG is making that possible with its latest LG flagship smartphone, the LG G2.

“LG was listening to consumers when they designed the LG G2,” said Geoffrey McMurdo, Vice President, Mobile Communications, LG Electronics Canada. “The unique Rear Key concept came from the realization that the larger phones became, the more difficult it became to access the side keys. Now, with the LG G2, Canadians can more easily control their device including adjusting the volume, take pictures, craft a memo and so much more – all with just one finger.”

We’ve included some specs about the LG G2 here for your convenience.

LG continues to listen and wants to hear what Canadians can do with just one finger. To celebrate the upcoming LG G2 launch, LG is challenging Canadians to warm up their index finger with the LG G2 One Finger Challenge. Each day for four weeks, Canadians can tell LG what they can do with one finger for a chance to win prizes, including the LG G2 before it’s available in stores.
